The Beauty of the American

we care to much about what we own, how we can own it and how much its worth. what happened to the worth of the person not the worth of what the person owns. did it ever exist here? has there been a time when people did not strive for riches and success?

Working with Working America

Has that person with the red shirt that says Working America on it stopped at your door? Have you gotten a knock from the people with the red and white name tag that says Working America STAFF on it? If you have, then chances are you have heard “Hi, I’m with working America AFL-CIO and we are fighting to save jobs. The way we are doing this is taking signature members who support green jobs that can’t be outsourced. All I need is your name and address.” Then after you sign down you are asked for a $5 contribution. Then have a good night. Anywhere in that were you informed about why they need members?
Maybe you heard this. “We are taking down signature members in order to lobby politicians for green jobs.” Well all of this is true. But what you probably didn’t know is that you signed a paper that makes you a member of Working America AFL-CIO for 18 months and they can use your name to lobby politicians for whatever they see fit. Yes they run a “strength in numbers” campaign, and right now it’s for green jobs, but what next? Do you really want your named being used for whatever someone else wants to use it for? That means that politically you agree with whoever they decide to support or fight for those 18 months. Do you want someone else using your name to support someone you may not agree with? Worse do you want someone using your name to fight someone you do agree with?
So who are they? Wikipedia says this: “Working America is an allied organization of the AFL-CIO…… provides workers who are not union members input into the policies, goals, and legislative efforts of the AFL-CIO. It also recruits people to help with letter-writing campaigns, phone banks and other activities to promote causes important to the labor federation.” So when signing up to be a member what you are doing is helping the labor unions accomplish their goals. Well the unions don’t spend much time helping non-union members, much less members of the unions.

So now you know what they may not have told you, so next time they stop at your door, think about what you are really signing up for, in fact ask the person at your door, because I bet they don’t even know what they are signing you up for.

Partisan Choice

Republican or Democrat?  Moderate or Independent?  I cant even begin to count the times i have been asked or seen someone asked these questions.  What is your answer?  Mine is simply this: None of the above.  Why? just because you have the right to vote doesn't give you someone to vote for in an election, so what are you supposed to do, vote for the best of two bads?  I don't think so.  The problem lies in the big party's, Moderates and Independents are really just Republicans or Democrats that don't agree with everything their original party supports.  The problem is the people behind the scenes, the ones who really run the faces we see on the tv or internet.  I do believe that at one time maybe those people had a vision on how they could help our country, but 99% of people that get a taste of power, just want to keep that power, at whatever cost.  In comes the corruption.  Then because they have the funding to do so, they pick candidates that have or will agree to do whatever the party leaders say they should.  This allows them to stay in power.  This also means that sometimes what they do to remain in power is not what is best for the American people.  So what do we do?  Take the power back, to the people where it belongs.

Go Destroy Your Watch

The only time that matters anymore is where you have to be and how long you have to do it.  What happened to taking the time to enjoy a few things in life that are not on a schedule.  Stop Rushing.  Stop Cramming.  Stop being Robots.

The Best of Whats Around?

War or Economic Destruction?  Recession?  These are terms we have become too familiar with over the last few years.  First let me make a statement:  I am not against war and i support our troops.  I have more than one family member either over seas or preparing for that trip.  That being said i can continue; what i do not support is our economic destruction.  Our last few political cabinets riding the coattails of wealth while we work for an economic system that forever seems to go the opposing direction of up, forward, or successful.  Why?  Our government continues to give incentives for outsourcing work and labor.  I don't understand.  Other countries don't really outsource to us for labor or product.  Which in my mind is interesting because i tend to think our products are higher quality.  I'm not biased or anything.  The problem with better quality means higher prices, which is why people by cheaper stuff.  But often the cheaper product has to be replaced at twice as much so they end up spending just as much to another economy.  Well Sometimes.  We need to bring our business back to America.  There is nothing wrong with country to country trade, but we are not trading we are giving.  How does this relate to our current war?  SIMPLE: what are some of the key points in helping someone?

1.  Don't tell someone how to have a democracy if you don't fully have one.  eg: Practice what you preach.  2.  You cant fully help someone if you need as much help or more as they do.  eg: We need to fix ourselves.

Before we can set an example for others we have issues to solve.  Government bailouts and taxes are not the answer; WE ARE THE ANSWER.

Expansion

How many times have we heard this? "The world is dying."  "Our resources drying up."  What will we do when they are gone?  How will we live?  Finding new fuel sources is not the answer.  Exploration is.  Finding new places to inhabit and farm is.  We need to push our remaining resources to finding more places to inhabit.  Whether into the ocean or into outer space.  Do we as Humans, after all the discoveries and inventions we have developed, truly act naive enough to think that we are the only life forms in our universe? Really?  There is no way that we were just that lucky.  A 3 year old is bright enough to figure that one out.  Exploration.  We must start now, because finding alternative fuel is temporary.  What happens when that runs out?  Some genius thought up a plan that helps us for how long?  Not long enough.  As humans we always need, regardless of what it is.  We need something and we always will.  No matter what we find to work for us, in the long run it is only temporary.  Exploration.  Expansion.

Dear Scott

Where did you go F?  What happened to the stories of great American Tragedy?  When did we lose the stories of life love and loss?  The stories of great American Tragedy died when we gained the buffer of our own self denial.  Our lives are nothing without pain.  We learn nothing but from experience, whether from your own or from those around you.  The Great American tragedy has gone from the book to the people.  We are now the American Tragedy.
